About the owners
Jeremy Davis M.G 129392 & Steve Hakala
Jeremy and Steve Both grew up flying and guiding with their fathers in the wild of alaska. In 1997 they purchased both Lake Country Lodge and Canoe Bay Outfitters.
As Highly experienced bush pilots, they know all the best hunting locations, watching game movements an hunting conditions yearlong. They consistently place hunters, with highly modified super cubs, in the best locations to maximize success. over the years they have expanded and upgraded both lodges, enduring comfortable accommodations. when you are not out in the field. They have also assembled a fantastic team of seasoned guides who are dedicated to making sure your hunt is a success.
Our Services
Brown Bear
Canoe Bay has consistently produced Boone & Crockett–class brown bears year after year. Thanks to the abundant salmon populations in both the rivers and nearby ocean, these bears grow rapidly and are genetically larger than many found elsewhere in Alaska.
During the spring season, hunts typically involve more hiking as bears spend more time in the mountains. In the fall, they are frequently found along the riverbeds, providing excellent opportunities for spot-and-stalk hunting.
Moose hunting
Lake Country Lodge is our interior Alaska location, offering premier fall moose hunting. For hunters who prefer to venture on their own, we provide reliable drop-off hunts. If you’re seeking a fully guided experience, we also offer 10-day guided hunts that include comfortable lodge accommodations, a professional chef, and a high level of service throughout your stay.
Spring Combo Hunt
If you are interested in predator hunting, we offer a march snowmobile hunt, conducted on snowmobile out oof the main lodge. These are great hunting adventures for wolves, wolverine and ptarmigan.
Caribou hunt
We offer a trophy caribou hunt out of our canoe bay camp, with exclusive hunting rights on leased land. If you hunt October, we offer a combo hunt for caribou and alaskan coastal brown bear. This 10 day hunt provides an exceptional opportunity to bag both large trophy brown bear and world class trophy caribou.
Grizzly Bear
Our South Fork lodge offers two distinct brown bear hunting opportunities. The spring hunt is offered by snowmobile, in April, as the bears are emerging from their winter dens.
Fall hunts start in august as the bears are roaming the hills and grazing the blueberries, then into September hunting off of moose kills.
